Outdoor gathering at 10 am
Based on the current regulations we think that it is possible to have face to face meetings. This will be different than normal and is somewhat still a work in progress. We will plan to meet outside, while still streaming the service for people who are more comfortable staying home.
There are many things that will be different, but the goal of Rock Valley Bible Church is still the same to enjoy His grace and extend His Glory. We pray that we will have a new appreciation for the ways that we do indeed enjoy God’s grace through the gathering of the church body. We are wanting to not only be looking in but want to have this tension that pushes us to want to extend his Glory. We are hoping that God will use this season of meeting on the lawn to be more visible that God may be glorified.
First thing is that as a Church, we will lay out some recommendations that are based on guidelines, but nobody will look down on you if you choose to stay home or not attend. You need to be comfortable with your decision for how you deal with this. There is so much information and you need to be comfortable with what you decide to do, but please allow others to be comfortable with what they decide to do. On the flip side we will not be policing how people choose to follow these recommendations. We are confident that this imperfect body of believers (us included) will be able to navigate this tightrope of being respectful of others while not feeling like we cannot be comfortable in our own decisions.
Some of the things that will be different.
We will meet outside with an attached diagram for what is the current plan. There are two options for all of us coming. We can sit on the lawn bringing your own seating/blankets and staying 6 feet apart from people not in your household, or you can park in the closest parking spots and be a part of the service this way. We have discussed the option of using an FM transmitter, but at this time are planning on just letting you listen through a window in the close spots. All cars parked with people staying in cars will have 1 empty space in between them so those sitting in the grass will park in the far end of the lot with no empty spaces.
We will have a very simple and shorter service with a microphone, congregational singing, scripture reading, time of prayer, and the message. There will be no children’s church or nursery provided.
The building will be closed with limited access for restroom use only. At this time only one person is allowed in the restroom at a time unless they are of the same household (parent child). This will be the one rule that will be enforced primarily to make sure the rest of the building is not being accessed.
In the event of inclement weather, we will meet indoors and seek to social distance as much as possible as well as livestream the service.
Again we are so thankful for what God is teaching us through this and are confident that we can enjoy God's grace and extend God's glory while maintaining unity in the body in spite of Covid. We will continue to review, refine, and amend this plan so that we can best fulfill our mission as church.
Please self-assess yourself each morning before church and stream from home if you have
Masks
The current recommendation that we are subject to says churches are to recommend that people use masks when social distancing is not possible. So this is our recommendation. Again we will not be policing this and ask that all extend grace. Also if this is an issue you are welcome to stay in your car or stream the service from home if you are more comfortable with these options.
We will continue to livestream our service on Facebook.
May our time away make our time together sweeter as we all strive to continue to enjoy His grace and extend His glory together as Rock Valley Bible Church.
Please feel free to contact the church with any questions or concerns
Although the prognosis of the COVID-19 epidemic changes daily, one thing we know. One hundred percent of the world is still under God’s control.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust;
I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4)
